Apatu Farms is a leading Hawke’s Bay family-owned Agribusiness focused on growing quality produce for prominent local and global customers. Operations span across Vegetable, Pipfruit, Viticulture, Dairy, Export and Transport activities.
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced HR practitioner to join our team for seven (7) months, on a fixed term basis to cover parental leave. You will work in partnership with the business, enabling us to develop and support our people to improve and refine the land we farm.
This role is based out of our Hastings office and supports diverse operations. Flexibility in the role is key, balancing operational requirements with good people practices; supporting our people to do their best work.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to our GM you will be providing our team with advice and support on HR policies and practices including employment relations, remuneration, employee engagement, employment agreements, employment legislation, change management, performance management, team development and management/staff development.
You will be proactive in providing HR services to the business and building effective trusting relationships with all stakeholders.
About You:
- At least three years of HR experience, including employment relations experience
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field preferred
- Ability to build trust and rapport quickly
- Experience providing coaching and advice at the managerial level
- Strong prioritisation and workload management skills
- Familiarity with New Zealand employment legislation
- Experience in Horticulture/Agriculture or FMCG environment preferred but not essential
